City Kids

Our hope for children at City Kids is that they feel welcomed as important members of our community. During the worship service on Sunday mornings, we offer:

  • Care for infants and toddlers (0-2.5 years) during the entire service*

  • Preschool class for children who are 2.5-5 years old

  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade

  • 2nd and 3rd Grade

  • 4th and 5th Grade

The preschool and elementary-aged children sit with their parents during the first part of the worship service and then are dismissed to go to their classes around 9:30.

On the 5th Sunday of the month, all children remain in the worship service so that they can experience the total worship experience together with adults so that they know that they are part of our community. Our hope with this is that they learn to be a part of the whole church and can stay engaged as they get older.

**All children's volunteers have cleared background checks.

Curriculum: At City Kids we use a curriculum called The Gospel Project, a Christ-centered, chronological Bible study curriculum for kids. It follows a proven plan to nurture disciples from preschoolers to older kids (and beyond) with Christ-centered Bible study resources. The curriculum unfolds from Genesis to Revelation, and helps our kids study the Bible in an age-appropriate way.

Communion: As a church we celebrate communion each week toward the end of the main worship service. We encourage parents to decide how they'd like their children to participate in communion (either by allowing their child to take communion, or come forward for a blessing). If you'd like help discerning how your child should participate in communion, contact Asher.
